Turnkey Subsurface irrigation Ensuring reliable Asparagus yield

In response to rising demand for asparagus in Ukraine, a drip irrigation system was implemented from the outset of plantation development. Designed to meet the crop’s specific water and root-depth needs, the system ensures consistent moisture in a region affected by prolonged drought—supporting healthy crop establishment and long-term productivity.

How We Made It Happen

Challenge

Asparagus is a moisture-dependent crop with deep root systems and strict planting requirements. In southern Ukraine, where abnormal droughts have persisted for several years, establishing a reliable irrigation method was critical to avoid early-stage losses and ensure healthy root development.

Resolution

Drip irrigation was integrated during the initial planting phase to provide precise, consistent irrigation directly to the root zone. By aligning irrigation with the crop’s spacing and depth requirements, the system mitigates drought risk and creates optimal growing conditions for this demanding yet high-value crop.
